"I would crawl across the world to spend time with this child..." Love, love, love this post. Especially as I just spent the weekend with my 2-year-old granddaughter. Now if we can just figure out How Not to F*ck Up The World" for these little ones...

Actually, no. I primarily come for the Divine Miss M stories anymore...she is a star child fallen to earth.

I recently bought a NuFace on sale at Sephora -- my facialist recommended it to me to help depuff in the morning and help with lymphatic drainage (I have funky sinus cavities and enlarged lymph node issues). While I haven't noticed any permanent facial effects, it does wonders massaging my neck and sinus area and it turns on the drainage tap in my throat (gross but true). Basically, it's an overpriced gua sha tool.

For that price I'll stick to the face I'm currently wearing. It sounds like something Suzanne Somers used to market. I think it was called the Face Master! She claims it does help (she still uses hers). Hers is no longer sold.

Sweet M is such a little doll! And have we discussed great beachwear for sun protection?? Yours looks very classy, including the hat!

And what, indeed, is nothing? The origin of everything. What we spring from, what we return to, perhaps to live again. Your granddaughter is wise beyond her years. And remember, the universe itself sprang from nothing. A wrinkle in being, the scientists say.

One fish, two fish, red fish blue fish. Emface, Nuface, how 'bout no face? I'd sincerely love to hear Little Lady M describe these devices. "Black. No smell" is just about the most poetic nihilism I could imagine. I love her from afar and ESPECIALLY the way she uses you as an umbrella stand.

Firstly, I love your posts, especially those featuring M! It is so joyous to see the obvious love, affection, and respect between you and your granddaughter. You are lucky to have each other.

I have a Ziip GX I am about to start using - which uses both microcurrent and nanocurrent. My understanding was that nanocurrent makes a difference, but if you have time to check with Dr. Waldorf, I would be curious as to whether nanocurrent indeed makes a difference.

M is a delight!

I’ve got a NuFace mini which I got for just under £100 a couple of years ago on sale. I’ve tried a few times to get in the habit of using it regularly but like Heidi I end up finding something better to spend those 5 minutes on. To be fair I’ve never expected it to produce any kind of permanent/long lasting results - I thought it was just meant to give you a temporary ‘lift’

"The truth is, I would crawl across the world to spend time with this child (as I often do), whose contagious delight renders me feverish with love."

GORGEOUS

M and you! That picture! Be still my heart!

I have a NuFACE mini and used it regularly for months until the special (and especially overpriced) gel that goes with it became harder to source in Canada. I'm not sure whether I saw desired differences...sometimes it seemed I did, but it was subtle. I DID notice undesirable broken capillaries on my cheeks. They resolved once I stopped using it.

Your granddaughter sounds like the best beauty trick EVER! Laughter and love go a LONG way - heck they may be the ONLY definition of true beauty! 👩🏼‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏻🩷💕

Nuface was blowing up my IG feed before my wedding and honestly I spent way too much time even considering the ads. Just glad I never gave in to the hype.

I loved your description of a day with your granddaughter. I feel the same was about my granddaughter. Wishing you and your girl many future conversations and visits to contemplate life's big questions and to just be happy and silly.

Thanks! I got my NuFace on sale on a whim after reading an overly glowing NYMag piece about it, and it'll probably get infrequent use when I want a little glow-up before an event, but it sounds like it won't make much diff in any sort of long run. I was a little anxious and put it away when I read someone's review claiming she felt like her constant use melted the connective tissue under her face, but I suspect now that was perhaps blaming the device for natural effects of aging (I guess a scapegoat is as good a use as any).

I hope I look as good as you when my daughter has a daughter of her own! I always love reading your personal preambles that remind me of the best places to look for beauty in life - in experiences with loved ones, rather than navel-gazing in the mirror.

I’m a bit of a schmuck when it comes to beauty products so I truly appreciate your “real info” re: NuFace. Thank you! Your granddaughter is adorable and seems very intellectually advanced. She’s talking about infinity and the universe?
