Wow, this is timely (even though you wrote it two years ago..!) Or perhaps this is simply timeless in the topic (or the reality) of how others perceive us. Most recently a former friend from nearly 40 years ago reached out to me after reading a profile of me in my alma mater's alumni magazine which included a photo from last year. He said how much I looked as I did in college and "what was your secret?" I actually didn't consider that as a compliment because, damn it, I'm older AND I've grown up (hopefully) from that naive 22 year old to a now 60 year WO-MAN. So, when we talked, I said to him that I had no secrets except for sunblock and no longer putting up with bullsh*t. The best secrets ever, right?
