Why subscribe to How Not to F*ck Up Your Face?

If you’re a woman, and you have a face, you probably have lots of feelings about it. Feelings that likely change from year to year—or from day to day, or even hour to hour. I’m here to help clarify what those feelings are and maybe to nudge them in the direction of…better. You may also have questions about how to care for your face, from your skin to your brows to your lips to your elevens. Don’t know what elevens are? I’ll talk about them here. If you have questions about how to make up your face (as many women do) especially as you age (as many lucky women do), you’ll find out about that here, too. Do you want insider insights about aesthetic treatments, like filler or neuromodulators or lasers? That’s right; I’ll try to cover all that and more. If I don’t have a good answer to your questions or concerns, I’ll find someone who does.

My goal continues to be to shift our thinking in the beauty arena from self-criticism to self-compassion. So, though you will find practical suggestions about applying eyeliner and locating an excellent moisturizer (among other things), you will be accompanied always by a gentle hand—an old hand—who wants to help you make choices that will buttress and enhance your self-regard.

If my name sounds vaguely familiar, you might remember that I was the beauty director for nearly 16 years at O, The Oprah Magazine, where my monthly “Ask Val” page was followed by many thousands of readers, maybe even you. It was a privilege to serve you then, and I hope to serve you at least as well here.

See you soon! In the meantime, please sign up (for free) or subscribe now to get full access to How Not to F*ck Up Your Face. That way, you’ll never miss an email or an update.
